General Information

Statement

Exile Music Festival is a fun weekend event showcasing fifteen to twenty of the best local bands and independent artistes. Our goal is to create a reasonably priced, small summer music festival that provides an overwhelmingly positive, family experience for both attendees and musicians in a beautiful countryside setting for around 500 people.

Arrival Times - The Festival Entrance opens at noon on Friday for Camping set-up and closes at 7pm on Sunday. The music starts at 7pm on Friday - see the ON STAGE page. Please present your proof of ticket purchase at the gate where you will be issued with wristbands.

Children - of all ages are welcome, and children under the age of 13 will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Camping - is available inclusively with Weekend tickets. Parking is provided on-site, not far away from the camping area. We ask you to set up your camp with consideration. For safety reasons, and to ensure the comfort of other attendees, the Management reserves the right to reduce the overall footprint of your chosen camping area.

Camper Vans and Caravans - We have limited space available, with no hook-ups or hard standings. Owners of vehicles over 6 metres in length come at their own risk as there are dangers of grounding and getting stuck on the site which is unsuitable for long vehicles. We reserve the right to refuse entry, if you are uncertain and would like further advice please GET IN TOUCH.

Food - The “Pop Top Café” will be back on site this year for the duration of the festival, serving a selection of reasonably priced meat and vegetarian meals, including breakfasts, snacks, tea, and coffee all day.

Local Facilities - Apart from the food wagon and the bar we do not have any shops on site, so please bring your own food, should you wish to self-cater. There are shops and a cash machine in nearby Darley Dale. Also, only a short car journey away, Matlock has various shops and supermarkets.

Elsewhere To Stay - As we are out in the countryside, there are perhaps only two small B&B’s walk-able from our site – the Square & Compass at Darley Bridge and the Whitworth Hotel at Darley Dale. However, there are numerous places to stay in the Matlock area if you are happy to drive or take a taxi.

Open Fires - ARE NOT PERMITTED in the camping field but why would you want one when we have a fantastic communal fire pit?!

We do allow small BBQ’s but these must be kept off the ground. Please be aware that Carbon Monoxide kills.  Never take a lit or smouldering BBQ into your tent or awning.

Drinking water points and Toilets - Are provided on the main festival site. There are no shower facilities on site but we do have flushing toilets and hand basins. No blue boxes at Exile!

First Aid - We do have First Aid support on site – if required, please ask any Steward, Festival Official or at the Ticket Office for assistance.

Dogs - Are allowed but must be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES. You must clean up after your dog.

Please note: Dogs are not allowed into the Main Marquee (except for Assistance Dogs).

Smoking - Is not allowed in any of the venues however, we do allow vaping.

Refuse/Recycling - We encourage as much recycling as possible and bins will be provided on-site. A small skip is also available for non-recyclable items. However, we kindly ask that you take as much of your own waste home with you.

Lost and Found - Please visit the main entrance for all lost and found items.

Alcoholic Beverages - You are welcome to bring your own alcohol to the festival campsite, but as we provide a well-stocked real ale bar in the “Venue”, which is a licensed premises, you will not be allowed to bring your own drinks into this area.

Attendees will need to show a form of ID to festival bar staff in order to purchase alcohol from the on-site bar should they be lucky enough not to look 18! Alcohol sales will be restricted to those 18 years and over.

Security and Safety - Please respect and follow all site rules and regulations. They were created with your safety in mind. Exile Music Festival Officials and Stewards have the last say.

Weather - Whilst we always put an order in for excellent weather, this is not guaranteed. See here for the latest weather updates.
